RUSTBURG: The Campbell County Board of Supervisors proudly announces that BWX Technologies, Inc. will invest in a multimillion-dollar manufacturing, research and development center in Campbell County.

Virginia competed against other states to secure this expansion, which is anticipated to create 97 new jobs with the average expected salary of more than $115,000 per year. The new center, called the BWXT Innovation Campus, will be housed on the 11-acre property adjacent to the current BWXT facility. Once complete, the Innovation Campus will showcase as the “factory of the future” for visiting customers such as NASA, the Department of Defense and the Department of Energy.

Mr. Matt Cline, Campbell County Board of Supervisors Concord District Representative stated “This investment of private sector dollars in Campbell County is the result of tireless work by County Staff and a Board of Supervisors that is pro-business and pro-growth.”

BWXT is a Fortune 1000 and Defense News Top 100 manufacturing and engineering innovator that has been awarded numerous contracts previously for Mobile Reactor Design, Uranium Conversion and Purification Services, Nuclear Thermal Propulsion Work for NASA, and Naval Nuclear Reactor Components and Fuel. BWXT has 12 major operating sites in the U.S. and Canada.

Campbell County is fortunate to have such a longstanding industry leader to expand and call this area “home,” said Campbell County Economic Development Manager Nina Rezai.
