Looking to add a little gamesmanship to your outdoor recreation? Campbell County Departments of Parks & Recreation and Economic Development proudly announce the launch of a new tourism opportunity in the County: the Campbell Caches GeoTrail. Get to know the great outdoor spaces Campbell County has to offer and enjoy the added challenge of this geocaching mini-adventure. To inaugurate this new program, the Parks & Recreation Department is offering a special-edition challenge coin to the first one hundred finishers of the entire GeoTrail.

What is Geocaching?

Geocaching is an outdoor treasure-hunting activity that uses the GPS on mobile phones to guide participants to a nearby “geocache.” Geocaching attracts a wide range of participants including outdoor enthusiasts, couples, families, or anyone who just loves playing hide-and-seek.

Geocaching.com offers a great introductory video here.

Remember to return any geocache to its original location for the next player to find and to follow the principles of Leave No Trace. Traditionally, if you take an item from a geocache, you should also leave an item for the next person to find.

About the Campbell Caches GeoTrail
