Opportunities for Business and Contractor/Installers

Appalachian Electric Power is offering its small business customers cash incentives for energy efficiency projects.  Businesses can receive up to $25,000 each for lighting and non-lighting projects, for a total of $50,000. Contact AEP at 833-402-2221 or TakeChargeSavings@trccompanies.com to get started or learn more at TakeChargeVA.com.

Lighting Projects

Lighting projects could include:

  • LED exit signs
  • recessed lighting
  • pin-based lamps
  • troffers and retrofit kits
  • high and low bay luminaires
  • linear lamps, controls
  • refrigerated case lighting and delamping

Non-lighting projects

Non-lighting projects could include energy efficient upgrades to commercial equipment including:

  • refrigeration and kitchen equipment
  • air compressors
  • variable frequency drives
  • HVAC

Opportunity for Contractors

Contractors who install these types of projects should apply to be included on Appalachian Power's contractor network (More Info Here), which connects customers with qualified contractors to make energy efficient home improvements. Customers who want to use a rebate from Appalachian Power for energy efficiency improvements are required to use a participating contractor, so having Campbell County contractors available on their network multiplies the economic impact of these programs for our local economy.
