Comcast/Xfinity Reports available connections to 6,700 homes and businesses in Campbell County

Fiber-based high speed internet continues to expand in the area as crews from several providers are active along roadsides. Comcast recently announced numbers for their Campbell County, Lynchburg, and Forest area expansions. The Campbell County section completed first with connections for Comcast Business and Xfinity currently available in additional 6,700 homes and businesses.

Additional construction is underway in the City of Lynchburg for 2,100 homes and businesses expected to be completed by the end of the year. The Forest expansion to an additional 3,200 homes and businesses is also underway but expected to complete in 2025.

The Campbell County Broadband Authority holds regular meetings at 5:00pm before the Board of Supervisors meetings on the first Tuesday in the months of January, April, July, and October. Meetings are held on the basement level of the Haberer Building, 47 Courthouse Lane, Rustburg, VA 24588.
