Campbell Connects Altavista event crowd

Campbell Connects crowd into Two Sister taproom in Altavista Virginia Economic Development continues to strengthen Campbell County's business community network with its latest Campbell Connects event at the Two Sisters Taproom in Altavista on January 23rd. Nearly 40 business and community leaders crowded into Two Sisters for the event, which seeks to provide business to business networking opportunities for the small business community in Campbell County.

Nina Rezai, Director of Economic Development filled attendees in on several programs coming up from Economic Development, including the Agritourism Workshop, coming on Februrary 23, 2023 as well as the Start Small Campbell Grant program, which is currently accepting applications. 

Message from the Altavista Area Chamber of Commerce President

Kyle Goldsmith, President of the Altavista Area Chamber of Commerce and owner of Carter's Store and Deli and Outpost in Lynch Station, spoke to the crowd about future plans for the Altavista Area Chamber of Commerce and encouraged business owners to join the Chamber. Bev Watlington, executive director of Chamber was also on hand and engaged with the attendees throughout the event.

Altavista Small Group Forming: Focused on Business Growth

Stephanie Keener, Executive Director of the SBDC-Lynchburg Region brought information about a new peer-led small business development group that is forming in the Altavista area. The group will work through the GrowthWheel program with local business owner Codie Cyrus of C&C Piping and Fabrications. The GrowthWheel framework is used to start structured conversations about a business, and helps the entrepreneur identify opportunities and challenges of the company.
