Spark Innovation Center

The Spark Innovation Center is a co-working and innovative technology space operated by the Town of Altavista. It endeavors to create an environment that supports and nurtures innovation, creativity, and entrepreneurship. It is in the recently redeveloped Altavista Fire Station located at 508 7th Street in the heart of historic downtown.

The Spark Innovation Center offers private offices and co-working stations for businesses and individuals, meeting and event spaces, and a Creative Lab for inventive minds. The lab is equipped with 3-D printers, a laser cutter, a large-scale printer, and a heat press.

The Center offers programming to support K-12 students, small businesses, and remote workers. Daily and monthly access options are available as well as classes to educate the community on innovation and business development. The Small Business Development Center – Lynchburg Region is on-site monthly to meet with start-ups and existing businesses.

The Spark Innovation Center is carrying on Altavista’s legacy of building great businesses. Altavista was founded more than 100 years ago by the entrepreneurial Lane brothers, who saw their opportunity to achieve the American dream. Since then, Altavista has seen many businesses and industries join its growing town. The Town is proud that it’s legacy will live on into the next era with innovative small business owners, creatives, and telecommuters who are part of the Spark community.
