The latest Campbell Connects networking event was held in Altavista on Thursday, March 7th at The Tuscan Italian Grill. Over 35 attendees mingled with one another, exchanging stories, talking business, and building relationships.

“Campbell Connects events in Altavista have been our most well attended events,” said Nina Rezai, Director of Economic Development. “I think having such a strong sense of community reveals alot about the small town lifestyle Altavista offers.” Rezai updated attendees about the ongoing CEDS process and how community input will be used to develop strategic goals. She also mentioned two building projects the county is pursuing: a 100,000 sf industrial shell building at Seneca Commerce Park and the 10-bay hangar building at Brookneal-Campbell County Airport, the construction of which is currently up for bid

Economic Development hosts these business-to business networking events each quarter in a different location in areas all around Campbell County with guest speakers to inform attendees about various topics in Economic Development. Lynchburg Regional Business Alliance's CEO Megan Lucas spoke at this event, describing some of the region’s success stories over the past year. Lucas emphasized that regional success is good news for all localities in the region as increased manufacturing employment drives increased in local spending.

Lucas added, “Altavista will always have my heart,” recalling her time as the Altavista Director of Economic Development.
