Small Business Development Center (SBDC) - Lynchburg Region

The Small Business Development Center - Lynchburg Region serves the City of Lynchburg, Amherst, Appomattox, Bedford and Campbell Counties to provide customized counseling and effective education for area small businesses. Among it's many, varied trainings, the SBDC-Lynchburg Region offers:

  • group trainings,
  • Lunch and Learn series,
  • in-depth presentations for those seeking more information, and
  • one-on-one sessions with a private counselor to discuss your business needs. 

The SBDC-Lynchburg Region and the Center for Entrepreneurship work closely to foster business start-ups and are a great first stop when you are ready to begin an new enterprise.

For existing businesses, offerings include:

  • Long-term cohort-based training (Co-Starters)
  • Scaling up your business
  • Breaking into government contracting
  • Expanding to international trade and more

Start-up Toolbox

Start-up Toolbox is a program offered by the Lynchburg Region Small Business Development Center to help give entrepreneurs training on creating a business plan, figuring how to determine which licenses and permits needed, how to hire your first employee, and what resources are available to launch their business. Offered monthly both on-line and at local locations such as the Spark Innovation Center in Altavista, Start-up Toolbox training sessions count toward the requirements for the Start Small Campbell Grant
