Anyone thinking of starting a new business in the Lynchburg Region will soon have access to a fantastic new resource. Budding entrepreneurs will benefit from a new Center for Entrepreneurship that will be located at 300 Lucado Place in Lynchburg. The Lynchburg Regional Business Alliance (LRBA) was awarded $240,000 from GO Virginia to help launch the center. The grant will support building out the space for the 2,700 square foot facility, staffing, consulting, and marketing. Campbell County and the Town of Altavista contributed to the funding of the Center, by providing a portion of the $187,035 in matching funds required to secure the grant, along with Amherst County, Bedford County, Lynchburg City, and the Towns of Amherst and Appomattox.

Megan Lucas, CEO of the LRBA, emphasized the importance of having a strong business startup ecosystem and expects the center will provide a place where prospective business owners can go to fine tune their ideas.

“The services available for entrepreneurship is for anybody within the regional footprint, whether they’re starting a business, growing a business, transitioning a business, anybody can utilize the services regardless of membership in the Lynchburg Regional Business Alliance,” says Megan Lucas, CEO of the LRBA.
