Chalmers and Kubeck South, a 24/7 service company in the valve and actuation industry, is hiring for shop/field technicians to join their customer service-oriented team. The Lynchburg Virginia Actuation Facility has an opening for a Level 1 Actuator Technician.  The Lynchburg shop is uniquely located in the same town as one of their main principles-Limitorque.  This provides the opportunity to see how the product is manufactured as well as product training direct from the factory.

Shop/field technicians will perform the following tasks, but are not limited to: troubleshoot, inspect, install, and test valves/ actuators at specified locations. Install and/or replace components per wiring diagram. Complete field service/job time worksheets and submit to Field Service Coordinator/Shop Supervisor upon completion of field service/labor work. Applicants must have good mechanical aptitude. Chalmers and Kubeck South will provide on-the-job training for qualified applicants, but mechanical work history or experience is preferred.

Job Requirements:

1. Must follow attendance and punctuality to company policy.

2. High School Diploma/GED required and MUST pass both background check and drug test. 

3. Must be able to receive and understand verbal and written technical instructions in English.

4. Safely function in an industrial setting where manufacturing conditions exist and must have the ability to follow lock out/tag out and other safety procedures.

5. Some heavy lifting required.

6. Knowledge of basic computer skills such as email and data entry into ValveKeep program.  

7. Must have the ability to use various mechanical tools.

8. Knowledge of basic mechanical skills are required – you will get dirty.

9. Ability to learn electrical systems and controls - specifically high and low voltage AC.

10. There will be requirements for travel along the eastern seaboard from Washington D.C. to the Carolinas to troubleshoot and repair customer’s valve actuators on-site.  There may also be opportunities to assist other shop locations.
