RUSTBURG: Campbell County Economic Development announces update of the incentive policy.  This revision was approved in an effort to include industrial programs and general business incentives to appeal to a broader business community audience. New businesses in Campbell County may qualify for incentives based on the nature of the business proposed for the area.  New programs range from small business start-ups to restaurants that rent and much more! The Start Small Campbell Grant Program is geared toward any new business employing 200 people or less and starting business for the first time in Campbell County.  Interested businesses must submit a business plan and have completed two Smart Start programs offered by the Small Business Development Center. This grant is awarded on a quarterly basis.

For any industry looking to relocate or get started in Campbell County, the industrial tax stabilization program was added to show how committed Campbell County is to the success of your operation!  For qualified investments, businesses can look to have an escalating tax rate starting after the first year of operation. “The Campbell County Board of Supervisors remains committed to enabling our existing businesses to thrive and grow while also pursuing every opportunity to welcome and support new and growing businesses,” stated Frank Rogers, Campbell County Administrator.

The policy was also revised to include a program targeted towards Restaurants that Rent.  For landlords that have restaurant space or restaurants deciding on a new location, this program is designed to help offset the costs with relocating and establishing the operation in a new area.  “As an economic development department, we want landlords to have full spaces and restaurants to focus on getting their name out there,” Nina Rezai Economic Development Manager. The program will provide rent reimbursement for the first year of operations up to $15,000.

More information about these programs and the methods for application are available on Campbell County Economic Development’s website, www.campbellvirginia.com/incentives.
