RUSTBURG: Campbell County celebrates Economic Development Week May 9 – 15, 2021. The week was created by the International Economic Development Council (IEDC) in 2016 to recognize economic development in communities and localities across the world.

Economic development is the practice of helping to improve a locality’s economic well-being and quality of life for citizens. Campbell County’s Economic Development Department focuses on the attraction and retention of businesses in the County. Economic Development also offers incentives for new or current businesses that are expanding in the area. The department strives to encourage the creation and preservation of jobs for citizens in order to ensure a sustainable future for the community.

Partnering with local, regional and state resources is key in giving the citizens of Campbell County the opportunity to grow the community. Connecting employers with workforce training, networking through BR&E visits, promoting local businesses through the Business Directory on the website, and being the economic hub for Campbell County are just a part of the role the department plays in Campbell County each day.

Join Campbell County Economic Development in celebrating Economic Development Week and tune in to Campbell County Public Library's social media for a virtual Economic Development takeover starting Wednesday, May 12th to learn a bit more about what the department does.
