Transportation
Campbell County is fortunate to have three major highways traversing our county. US Route 460 travels east-west across the northernmost boundary of the county. US Routes 29 and 501 travel north-south through the county. Recently, a new interchange was constructed at the intersection of US Route 460 and US Route 29. At present, a bypass is being constructed to connect US Route 460 to US Route 29 across the James River in Amherst County. This new road will allow through traffic to bypass the congested areas of the Lynchburg Expressway and Madison Heights.

There are two airports located within Campbell County. The Lynchburg Regional Airport is owned and operated by the City of Lynchburg, but is located just off US Route 29 in Campbell County (see map above). The Lynchburg Regional Airport offers commercial services and general aviation services.
